Asim’s dominant performance saw him win 11-9, 11-6, 11-15, marking a strong start in the PSA World Tour Copper event, which boasts a prize pool of $33,000.
Asim, ranked 60th in the PSA rankings and Pakistan’s highest-ranked player, showed great control and strategic adaptability throughout the match. He now qualifies for the second round, where he faces a tougher challenge against the top seed in the tournament, Auguste Dussor of France.
