Dubai: Pakistani star players Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi have moved up in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) ODI and Test rankings.
The former skipper, as per the latest rankings, maintained his position as the top ODI batsman with 822 rating points while opening batsman Imam-ul-Haq dropped slightly from 11th to 12th with 666 rating points.
However, Fakhar Zaman maintained his position in the top ten, occupying ninth place with 675 rating points.
Shaheen, on the other hand, jumped three places to claim the fourth spot in the ODI bowling rankings. His impressive outing with the ball in the first ODI against Australia, where he returned impressive bowling figures of 2/43 in 10 overs, earned him a rating of 655 points.
However, despite leading Pakistan’s strong display in the aforementioned match with three wickets, Haris Rauf suffered a decline, dropping four places to 27th. Naseem Shah remained steady at 69th with 436 ranking points.
In the Test batting rankings, star batsman Babar, despite missing Pakistan’s remaining two Tests of the three-match series against England, has risen to 17th position.
Along with him, wicket-keeper Rizwan and all-rounder Salman Ali Agha have made remarkable strides.
Radwan’s ranking improved two places to 20th place, while Agha rose to 19th place.
Conversely, Pakistani Test captain Shan Masood and his deputy Saud Shakeel suffered sharp declines, with both falling two places to 59th and ninth respectively.
Shaheen proved his mettle as an all-rounder, clinging to the 15th spot in the Test bowling rankings, while the duo of Nauman Ali and Sajid Khan also maintained their positions.
Right-arm spinner Hasan Ali, who last played a Test earlier this year, has moved up one place to 35th.
