Cups sold at Wawa stores have been recalled after their metal straws interrupted customers’ attention – Uptrends

About 60,000 cups were recalled from Wawa stores in eight states and the District of Columbia after their manufacturer received four reports of tearing injuries, according to a notice published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Thursday.

The notice stated that the metal straws in the cups pose a risk of cutting consumers’ hands and mouths.

Hello Brand Solutions of Sterling, Ill., which imported the cups made in China, said the recall includes 24-ounce reusable plastic cups printed with “Wawa” that sold during August for about $13 each.

The mugs were sold in four styles: “The Mermaid,” which is pink and green, “Island Surf,” which is blue and yellow, “Sailor Breeze,” which is brown and orange, and “The Galaxy,” which is blue. And pink. They all have a tan cap.

People who purchased the cups should stop using the metal straw and contact Halo for instructions on how to obtain a replacement silicone straw after returning the metal straw.

Consumers also have the option to return the cup and metal straw to receive a refund in the form of a $15 gift card. The company added that consumers should not return recalled items to Wawa stores.
