The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the prize money for the upcoming Champions One-Day Trophy, which will begin at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad from September 12.
According to PCB, the winner of the tournament will get Rs 30 million, while the runner-up will get Rs 15 million.
The five-team tournament will begin today with a high-profile match between Mohammad Rizwan’s UMT and Shadab Khan’s Panthers.
The above-mentioned tournament will showcase the country’s best cricketing talent in a single league format.
Eminent personalities will mentor the five participating teams: Dolphins, UMT Markhors, Panthers, Allied Bank Stallions and Nurpur Lions.
Saud Shakeel will captain the Dolphins, with Sarfaraz Ahmed as his mentor; The Lions will be led by Shaheen Shah Afridi, led by Waqar Younis; Mohammed Haris will lead the stallions, supported by Shoaib Malik; Mohamed Rizwan will lead the Marcoses, under the supervision of Misbah ul Haq; Shadab Khan will captain the Panthers, under the supervision of Saqlain Mushtaq.
Matches will start at 3 p.m. local time, with the exception of the Lions-Panthers match on September 16, which will start at 9:30 a.m. The tournament consists of 13 league matches, followed by three playoff matches over four days, with the final being held on Sunday, September 29.
