These days, you can have almost anything shipped to your door from websites like Amazon and Walmart, including your home.
Walmart is now selling a tiny house online for $15,900. The 19-by-20-foot “expandable prefabricated home” is delivered by flatbed truck and requires a forklift to unload, according to the online listing.
Manufactured by Chery Industrial, a New York-based storage solutions company, the tiny house has space for a bedroom, living room, bathroom, dining room and kitchen. Comes unfurnished and without appliances.
Some Americans are moving to smaller homes in the middle High housing costs All over the countrydriven largely by a housing shortage caused by a decline in construction following the Great Recession of 2007-2009. However, the sticker price can be deceiving, given the additional costs associated with owning such a home.
For starters, one may need land to install it, as well as build a foundation. The item description also recommends pouring concrete over its legs to increase stability. Then there are also costs for everything from renting a forklift to unpacking the house to installing appliances.
In April, Amazon began listing the same tiny house, which is currently unavailable on its site. Chery Industrial also makes what it calls an “Apple Cabin,” currently available for sale on eBay, for $20,000, whose exterior resembles an Apple electronic device, such as an iPhone.
